What is MK-677 (Ibutamoren)?
MK-677 is a selective agonist of the ghrelin receptor and a growth hormone secretagogue stimulating the growth hormone. It is currently under development as a potential treatment of reduced level of growth hormones (Growth hormone deficiency) and frailty in elderly.
It has many different names like MK-0677, L163,191, MK-677 and Ibutamoren. Human studies has shown to sustain activation of GH-IGF-1, increase in lean body mass and bone mineral density. The fact that MK-677 is able to promote the release of growth hormone is one of the main reasons why it has gotten so populair.
It has been demonstrated to increase the release of, and produces sustained increases of several hormones including GH and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1)
How does Ibutamoren work?
Ibutamoren promotes the secretion of the growth hormone(GH) and increases insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF1). It can increase the growth hormone by selective mimicking the hormone: Ghrelin. And binding to one of the ghrelin receptors GHSR in the brain. When GHSR has activated it releases spikes of growth hormone.
GHSR controls your appetite, biological rhythms, pleasure, and mood. That is why many users experience a lot of hunger when using MK-677 powder or MK-677 capsules.
Ibutamoren is so great because it increases growth hormone levels but doesn’t increase in other hormones such as cortisol.
Studies have shown create results with 0,2mg/kg and up to 0,8mg/kg that would be in a range of 15mg to 80mg per day of MK-677. This was done on children with GH deficiency. The only took it for 7 days.
The longer you take Ibutamoren the more benefits you get. A popular dose of MK-677 would be 10-30mg a day. Studies have shown an 80 increase in IGF-1 with 25mg a day.
Some users report taking 10mg before bed and 10mg on waking up. There is a possibility of experiencing lethargy when taking it when you wake up.
